Berger Backgrounds is a supplement for Sooty Beards and contains 36 character new backgrounds with thematic items and abilities to lend even more flavor to the once-prosperous dwarven coal-mining city of Vesallberg.

Sooty Beards assumes the players will take on the roles of a party of drifters and outta-townies, blown into Vesallberg by the cold wind and the vagaries of fate. But it doesn’t have to be played that way. Use the TROIKA!-compatible backgrounds found within this booklet for a game of Sooty Beards that aims for a more local and connected flavor of grimsy. These backgrounds can also be pulled into any game of TROIKA!
